Scheherazadeis a famous one-act ballet by Rimsky-Korsakov inspired by the oriental tales One Thousand and One Nights.Temperamental music, the elegant architecture of oriental dance, the romance of love scenes, oriental costumes gleaming against the background of the stylish sets. Carmen Suite is a work containing the artistic interpretation of two composers: the French romantic Georges Bizet, the composer of the immortal opera Carmen, and the Russian contemporary composer Rodion Shchedrin. Based on Bizet's music, Shchedrin created a completely new musical piece full of well-known intonations, enthralling rhythm and musical charm.
She studied dance at the Vaganova Academy of Russian Ballet in Saint Petersburg and the Lviv State Choreographic School, where she graduated in 1992. She danced for the Lviv National Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre (1992-1997) and the Brno National Theatre Ballet (1997-2001). Since 2001, she has been the first soloist for the National Opera Ballet in Lviv. She played the lead roles in the ballets Don Quixote, Giselle, The Nutcracker, La Bayadère, Romeo and Juliet, Carmenand others. She choreographed the ballets The Nutcracker and Scheherazade for the National Opera Ballet in Lviv. She is the recipient of the Vadim Pisarev Prize (2011) and the title of Merited Artist of Ukraine (2017).
Decadance is the work of the legendary Israeli Ohad Naharin, who has belonged to the ‘crème de la crème’ of modern world dance theatre for several decades. Although Decadance is a special combination of parts of entire works created by Ohad Naharin over the past decades, it is also a new form, since these earlier works are set in an original piece within the directorial line and choreographic structure of the entire evening. Ohad's powerful charisma, very specific geographic and cultural background, unique and original poetics of movement and expressive means in general inform a new spectacle especially for viewers, who have a strong, unusual experience at each performance.
